Belgium’s Prime Minister Bart De Wever has firmly stated that no frozen Russian funds should be returned to Moscow, warning of “consequences until eternity” if the money is touched. Speaking ahead of European discussions on Ukraine funding, De Wever highlighted the legal and financial risks involved, emphasizing that Belgium demands concrete guarantees before any Russian assets are used. He also warned that unilateral action could expose the EU to litigation, countermeasures from Russia, and threats to Eurozone financial stability.
