The U.S. military carried out what President Donald Trump called a “very serious retaliation” against Islamic State targets in Syria. According to the military, the strikes hit more than 70 targets across central Syria and were supported by Jordanian fighter jets. This follows an ambush by militants that killed two U.S. soldiers and a civilian. Syria says it will intensify its own military operations against ISIS with the US-led coalition.
