Lifting Capabilities of the Massive – USAF C-5M Super Galaxy September 17, 2019 Unipro2013main Modern Military Aircraft, US Air Force, US Military </p> <h2>Massive – USAF C-5M Super Galaxy</h2> <p> U.S. Marines and airmen assist in loading a UH-1Y Venom into C-5M Super Galaxy at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 16, 2019.<br /> <br /> The C-5M was a visiting U.S. Air Force aircraft from 433rd Airlift Wing, and was here as part of a dual service training exercise.<br /> <br /> The air station provides the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing with flexible deployment options.<br /> <br /> The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is a large military transport aircraft originally designed and built by Lockheed, and now maintained and upgraded by its successor, Lockheed Martin. It provides the United States Air Force (USAF) with a heavy intercontinental-range strategic airlift capability, one that can carry outsized and oversized loads, including all air-certifiable cargo.
