Where do Canadians stand on hitting the U.S. with counter-tariffs? A slew of polls now unanimously suggest the public supports Prime Minister Mark Carney and his government’s handling of U.S. President Donald Trump’s escalating trade war.
Roughly two-thirds of Canadians back Carney’s counter-tariff strategy even if it means higher household costs or job losses and a healthy majority support the Carney government’s decision last month to walk away from U.S. trade talks.
