Sir Olly Robbins has delivered explosive testimony to Parliament, revealing how he was put under “constant pressure” to approve Lord Mandelson’s vetting.
The former Foreign Office mandarin addressed MPs days after he was sacked for failing to tell the Prime Minister about concerns raised in the vetting process.
But the career civil servant turned on Sir Keir Starmer, telling MPs that Downing Street had taken a “dismissive approach” to the security checks carried out on the former US ambassador.
