4. YouTube API Services
PCN uses YouTube API Services, including the YouTube Data API, to identify publicly available videos from selected YouTube channels and playlists and organize suitable videos into relevant categories across PCN websites.
Information accessed through YouTube API Services may include:
- Video titles and descriptions;
- Video identifiers;
- Channel identifiers and channel names;
- Playlist identifiers and playlist information;
- Video thumbnails;
- Publication dates;
- Video availability information;
- Other publicly available video metadata.
PCN uses this information for video discovery, categorization, duplicate prevention, source monitoring and the display of relevant embedded videos on PCN websites.
Videos remain hosted by YouTube and are displayed using YouTube’s official embedded player. PCN does not download, re-upload, alter or claim ownership of YouTube videos.
Our current service does not require members of the public to sign in to their Google or YouTube accounts. PCN does not request, collect or store users’ Google or YouTube passwords.
By viewing or interacting with embedded YouTube content, you are also interacting with services provided by Google and YouTube. Google and YouTube may collect information through the embedded player in accordance with their own policies.

Use of YouTube and its embedded player is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
PCN’s access to and use of YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and applicable YouTube Developer Policies.
5. Google account permissions
PCN does not currently require public visitors to authorize access to their private Google or YouTube account information through OAuth 2.0.
If PCN introduces a feature that requires access to an individual user’s Google or YouTube account, we will:
- Explain what information is requested;
- Explain why the information is required;
- Request the user’s express authorization;
- Limit access to the minimum permissions required;
- Use authorized information only for the disclosed purposes;
- Provide appropriate methods for revoking access and requesting deletion.
Users can review and revoke access previously granted to Google-connected applications through Google’s third-party connections and security settings.
Where authorization is revoked, PCN will cease using the relevant authorization and delete associated API Data in accordance with YouTube’s Developer Policies.
6. Embedded YouTube players
When a PCN page loads an embedded YouTube player, certain basic information may be transmitted to YouTube to render the video thumbnail and title, determine whether the video can be played, apply content restrictions and prevent fraud or abuse.
Additional information may be collected and shared with YouTube when a visitor plays or otherwise interacts with an embedded video. YouTube may use this information to operate and customize its player and services.
This processing is carried out by Google and YouTube under their applicable terms and privacy policies.
7. Embedded content and external services
PCN websites may contain embedded videos, links, images or other material supplied by third-party services.
When you interact with embedded content, the third-party provider may collect information about your browser, device and interaction with that content. The provider may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own privacy policy.
PCN does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party websites and services. We encourage visitors to review the privacy policies and terms applicable to those services.
8. Cookies
PCN websites may use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential website operation;
- Website and account security;
- Remembering visitor preferences;
- Measuring traffic and website performance;
- Embedded video and media functionality;
- Advertising and audience measurement where enabled.
Where required by applicable law, non-essential cookies will not be used until you provide consent.
You can manage or withdraw cookie consent using the cookie controls available on the relevant PCN website. You may also block or delete cookies using your browser settings.
Disabling certain cookies may affect the operation of embedded videos and other website features.
9. Analytics and advertising
We may use analytics services, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our websites.

- Approximate geographic location;

PCN websites may display advertising. Advertising displayed elsewhere on a webpage is separate from the embedded YouTube player. PCN does not insert its own advertising into the YouTube player or underlying YouTube video.
Advertising and analytics providers may use cookies or similar technologies subject to applicable consent requirements and their own privacy policies.

10. Sharing of information
We may share limited information with:
- Website hosting and infrastructure providers;
- Security and technical-service providers;
- Analytics and audience-measurement providers;
- Advertising providers where applicable and legally permitted;
- Google and YouTube when embedded players or YouTube API Services are used;
- Professional advisers;
- Public authorities where disclosure is legally required;
- A purchaser or successor if all or part of the PCN operation is transferred.
PCN does not sell personal information in exchange for money.
Service providers are given access only to information reasonably necessary to perform their functions and are expected to protect that information appropriately.
11. Data retention and YouTube API Data
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution requirements.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information:
- Enquiries and correspondence are retained only as long as necessary to respond and maintain appropriate business records;
- Security and server logs are retained for a limited operational period unless additional retention is necessary to investigate abuse or comply with the law;
- Consent records may be retained as evidence of privacy choices;
- Account details are retained while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary;
- YouTube API Data is retained and managed according to the YouTube Developer Policies.
YouTube API Data temporarily stored by PCN is refreshed or deleted within 30 calendar days.
PCN makes reasonable efforts to ensure that stored YouTube API Data remains consistent with the current information available through YouTube API Services. This includes reflecting videos or metadata that are changed, deleted, restricted, made private or otherwise become unavailable.
PCN does not retain YouTube API Data indefinitely without refreshing it or another lawful and policy-compliant reason.
12. Data deletion requests
You may ask PCN to delete personal information associated with you by contacting Privacy@pcn-channel.com.
Where a valid deletion request concerns information obtained through YouTube API Services and related to the requester, PCN will delete that information as soon as reasonably possible and no later than seven calendar days after validating the request.
Where a user revokes previously granted Google or YouTube authorization, PCN will delete API Data stored under that authorization in accordance with YouTube’s Developer Policies.
Deleting information held by PCN does not delete information held independently by Google or YouTube. To delete information stored by YouTube, users must use YouTube itself or an authorized YouTube client that supports the relevant deletion function.
We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or deleting personal information. We will request only the information reasonably necessary to perform that verification.
13. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google and YouTube, may process information outside the country in which a visitor lives.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms and safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual protections.
14. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, organizational and technical measures designed to protect personal information and API Data against:
- Unauthorized access;
- Unlawful use or disclosure;
- Accidental loss;
- Alteration;
- Destruction;
- Misuse.
Our services use encrypted HTTPS connections where supported. Access to internal PCN tools is restricted to authorized personnel and approved reviewers.
However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Your data-protection rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information held about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of your information;
- Request restriction of processing;
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Request data portability where applicable;
- Lodge a complaint with an appropriate data-protection authority.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

16. Children’s privacy
PCN websites are intended for a general audience and are not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission, please contact Privacy@pcn-channel.com so that we can investigate and delete the information where required.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of online services and embedded third-party content where appropriate.

- YouTube API requirements;

The latest version will be published on this page. The effective date and last-updated date at the beginning of the policy identify the current version.
