Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused NATO states of eroding global security and turning the Arctic into a U.S. “zone of interest,” while expressing solidarity with China. She warned that ignoring Russian interests in the Arctic would carry lasting consequences. In the same briefing, Moscow issued a stark threat over Western troop plans in Ukraine, declaring any foreign contingents legitimate targets and condemning Britain’s expanding military role.
