Taiwan’s defense forces swung into action soon after detecting Chinese aircraft and naval vessels near its territory on Saturday. The island nation claimed to have detected nine Chinese warplanes and two naval vessels. Taiwan also said that one Chinese jet even crossed Taipei’s air defence identification zone. In response, Taipei scrambled its jets, missile systems, and navy to warn away the Chinese threat.
