But directly behind it is Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.” Nicki Minaj doesn’t have a song out right now other than being featured on Yo Gotti’s “Rake It Up” which is currently at number 16. So what’s the correlation? Some Taylor Swift fans don’t want “Bodak Yellow” to reach number one because that would mean that Taylor would no longer reign supreme and some Nicki Minaj fans also don’t want Cardi to reach number one because they don’t want her to break Nicki’s record. If Cardi hits number 1 she would be the 2nd female hip hop artist to do so without being the featured artist on a track since Lauryn Hill. Nicki currently holds the record for Anaconda making it to number 2. Now historically Taylor Swift fans and Nicki Minaj fans aren’t allies but in the midst of having a common enemy, they have joined forces. So the strategy is to keep Taylor at number one so that Cardi can’t win. One Nicki fan tweeted – “this is beyond sad.
