China has hit out after the Donald Trump administration banned the import and sale of foreign-made drones, including the ones from China’s DJI. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian accused Washington of over-stretching national security concerns. He said the United States was “over-generalizing” security risks and urged it to provide a fair, just and non-discriminatory environment for Chinese companies. Beijing’s protest comes after a decisive regulatory strike by the US government. The Federal Communications Commission has effectively blocked the future of Chinese drones in America.
The FCC has added foreign drone manufacturers — including the world’s largest drone maker DJI — to its “Covered List.”
