Trump Urges US Oil Giants to Invest $100 Billion in Venezuela After Maduro’s Fall

U.S. President Donald Trump met with executives from major American oil companies, including Chevron, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips, at the White House to push for at least $100 billion in investments to revitalise Venezuela’s oil industry, which has suffered decades of decline and sanctions. Trump promised “total safety, total security” for companies operating there and said U.S. legal frameworks would protect investors after the US-led capture of former leader Nicolás Maduro. While Chevron signalled willingness to expand, other firms said Venezuela remains “uninvestable” without major legal reforms, showing caution despite Trump’s push.
