The International Atomic Energy Agency has warned that a direct strike on the UAE’s Barakah nuclear power plant could trigger a major radioactive release after multiple drones targeted the country within 48 hours. UAE officials said one drone breached air defences and struck an external power generator area near the plant, though regulators confirmed no radiation leak occurred.
The incident has raised fresh fears over nuclear safety, drone warfare and the growing security risks facing critical infrastructure in the Gulf region.
