Ukrainian air attacks killed at least two people and wounded 17 others in strikes on the southern Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don and Belgorod, regional authorities said on Monday. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia regional governor Ivan Fedorov said a guided aerial bomb and drone attack killed one person and wounded two in the southern city, which has been under heavy bombardment in recent months. Security camera footage captured the moment a missile struck Ukraine’s northeastern city of Kharkiv, as Russia launched deadly attacks across the country on Sunday. At least one woman was killed in Kharkiv. Her two children were among 12 people injured, officials said. In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, a Russian glide bomb hit a petrol station, regional governor Ivan Fedorov said. At least one person was killed in their car. This gas station employee said people inside the store escaped to a nearby bomb shelter after a warning was sounded. The attacks came after Russian forces targeted Ukraine’s capital overnight, with explosions rocking the city. Emergency services released a video said to show firefighters battling blazes in Kyiv. Ukraine’s air force said Russia had launched seven ballistic missiles and 136 drones at their country overnight. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had warned on Friday that Russian attacks were likely over the next 48 hours. In a video statement, he said Moscow is working to bring in 30,000 more troops and new missile launchers from North Korea. “This is a threat not only to Ukraine,” Zelenskiy said, adding that Russia helping North Korea learn how to wage war poses a danger to Asia.
