European Parliament plunged into confrontation as French Left leader Manon Aubry launched a blistering attack on European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a heated debate on two motions of censure. Aubry accused von der Leyen of “accompanying the genocide in Gaza through cowardice and inaction,” and of “capitulating to Donald Trump” by vassalising the European Union to American interests. She charged the Commission with killing agriculture, serving corporations, and prioritising tanks over hospitals, calling the current EU administration “a road to fascisation.” In a dramatic climax, Aubry told von der Leyen: “You should leave — 60% of Europeans want you gone.”
