It is no secret that Elon Musk and Europe are at odds. The world’s richest man has slammed the continent’s migration policies and claims there is no freedom of speech.
Musk has increasingly dragged himself into European politics, appearing alongside far-right organisations in the UK and Germany.
Last year, Musk’s X social media platform was fined $14M under the EU’s Digital Services Act for its ‘deceptive’ paid blue ticks and lack of transparency over advertising.
Its AI tool Grok is also under EU investigation over explicit deepfakes of women and children while French prosecutors have summoned Musk for questioning.
As some countries move to ban social media for under-16s including the UK, Spain and Denmark, Musk’s platform, X, faces mounting legal pressure.
As this tit-for-tat battle intensifies, who will ultimately claim victory?
