HMS Tamar visits remote Pitcairn Island February 19, 2024 Geraldine Royal Navy, Top Military News, UK News </p> <h2>HMS Tamar </h2> <p> In January 2024, HMS Tamar spent 5 days in the British Overseas Territory of Pitcairn Island helping the 40 inhabitants with community projects. They also safely disposed of explosives left over from the construction of the island’s small harbour in the 1970s.</p> <p>The ship conducted sovereignty patrols in the island’s waters – the fourth largest Marine Protected Area in the world, covering an area the size of Scandinavia.
