Irish Immigration Policy U-Turn? | The Millennial Cynic #Ireland #IrishPolitics #ImmigrationPolicy

Today I take a look at recent moves by the Irish Government to stem the flow of immigration into Ireland. Green Party Minister Roderic O’Gorman brought a proposal to cabinet to change the policy surrounding accommodating Ukrainian refugees here in Ireland, and was backed up by statements from Fine Gael’s leader, and our Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, in which he said that Ireland is at capacity. This proposal and rhetoric was challenged by coalition partners Fianna Fáil, in particular party leader and Tánaiste Micheál Martin, and fellow Fianna Fáil ministers Darragh O’Brien and Michael McGrath.

Is this a real shift in immigration policy? Or is it all just pointless kite flying? Let’s take a look!
