Energy Crisis
The Russian energy supplier Gazprom will once again stop distributing gas to Europe through its main pipeline due to maintenance work. Usually pumping gas from Russia to Germany, Nord Stream 1 pipeline has been operating below capacity for several weeks and completely shut down earlier this month for a 10-day break, also for maintenance reasons. The German government believes there is no technical reason for Gazprom to be limiting gas supply and the EU is accusing Russia of using energy as a weapon.
