Stark contrast between life of Ukraine Refugees and other Migrants in EU

Integrating well and quickly

International Migrants Day is marked by the United Nations to highlight the contributions migrants make and the problems they face. It’s taking place in the middle of a brutally cold winter in Europe, but plunging temperatures have not put off migrants trying to cross into the European Union.
One increasingly popular point of entry is along the border between Serbia – which is not in the EU, and Hungary, which is. Around the Serbian village of Horgos, where there’s a border crossing, a number of illegal migrant camps have emerged.
DW reporter Idro Seferi visited one of them recently.
Meanwhile, more than a million Ukrainians have settled in Germany since the start of the war. A new study shows many of them are integrating well and quickly. DW reporter Emily Gordine met with a young family who came to Berlin in March.
