US Army Reserve Soldier Wins Silver in Sport Pistol at Olympic Trials

Silver Medal in Women’s Sport Pistol

U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Sandra Uptagrafft with the 98th Training Division (IET) claimed the Silver Medal in Women’s Sport Pistol at the USA Shooting Smallbore Olympic Trials – Part 1 at Fort Benning, Georgia on October 2, 2019.

Her overall Silver Medal win places her in good standing and sets her up for the Smallbore Olympic Trials – Part 2 in March. Scores from both parts of the Trials will be added together and the top competitors will make up Team USA for the 2020 Olympic Smallbore events.

Uptagrafft is a Phenix City, Alabama resident and competed in the 2012 Olympics in both 25m Sport Pistol and 10m Air Pistol.

She will be trying to make Team USA in Air Pistol as well. The Olympic Trials – Part 1 for that event will be held in December.
